Association KMPLayer under Windows 7 (as well as any other application, including Portable)

Caution!

Updates 09.01.2017: Fast very old, Since then there have been a lot of things, eg – Windows released 10. In general, I want to recommend an alternative player KMP–> Daum PotPlayer. It can be downloaded at official website orRussian online. I recommend to download from the official, but there is no difference: Russian language will be in the player, in any case,. With no file association problems, It works fine on Windows 7.

Even a small addition: if you want to watch videos in HEVC format on the old or not very powerful equipment (eg, the tablet / netbook Windows with Intel Atom processor), it will install the codec Lentoid High Efficiency Video Coding (<–there also download). Installation is possible in any codec player with DirectShow, you just need to extract the files to a convenient location and then connect the player settings as an additional codec.

KMPlayer – associations setting

Many probably know, KMPlayer that is not associated through the settings in the program in Windows 7, since Win 7 used a different approach to file associations. To change the association, you need to go to the menu “Start–>Default Programs” and left in the list, select the application, for which you want to change the association. but of course, all the applications are not there, and therefore should be added to that list our app(in this case, KMPlayer). I have it installed in a folder “f:\Program Files KMPlayer”, and in turn, the system does not know, that a player has already(after pereustanoki system I did not permutated player).
List of programs by default is taken from the registry branch
“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE RegisteredApplications”

there include a string like:

App = branch in the registry description of the application.

so, KMPlayer adding to the registry,  the most boring I've done, It remains the most simple:
Download regKMP.rar (4338 Загрузок)  and unzip for example on the desktop so, that Both files were near. Now Opens rg.bat through notebook (Open as text) and change the first line

SET APPPATH =”F:\Program Files KMPlayer kmplayer.exe” //Enter their way to kmplayer.exe, (quotes leave!)

Now save the file, and click twice on the rg.bat, probezhat lines, if it is written everywhere “successfully completed”, that means all is well.

Go to the “Start->Default Programs” — in the list must be KMPlayer

In this way, you can associate any application with a Windows Portable 7
